No: Foot warts are different than melanoma, and are approached differently.  Melanoma is very serious, and if you have a questionable skin lesion you should bring it to your doctor's attention immediately. Not knowing seems to be scary to you now.  Why not have it checked out and [likely] get started on appropriate care.

I would not: Wait till another time. There is always a risk of possible infection. This is elective surgery and in my opinion should not be done while pregnant.

Yes: Yes it hurts but there are other alternatives to excision and curettage that do not require injections. There is cryofreeze, seal cyclic acid treatments and blistering agents none of which require anesthesia.

Wound care.: Stop exercising. Clean the wound and cover with a sterile dressing. Elevate it and call the doctor in the morning. If painful try ice compression and take tylenol.

Simple: See your physician or your dpm  for excision planter wart. Smaller ones are amicable to local medication.

See below: Plantar warts should appear bumpy, and be on the bottom of the foot. Athlete's foot is red, and usually appears on top of the foot in between the toes. Hope this helps!

A week: Depending on how many and how deep.  However to get back to stepping without pain most people recover in a week.

Unlikely: Ben, get yourself a good history and physical exam and if the cause isn't clear, get to a neurologist for a check for a peripheral neuropathy. Especially, for a man of your age, rule out Fabry's.
