hi there, i have itchy eyes and they are watery. now a bit of a fever. 
im not coughing or anything relating to flu symptoms. could this be pink eye?

There are different types of pink eye. Further symptoms of a viral infection would make an infectious cause more likely. Avoid dust, smoke and other irritants.

Your doctor may then want to give you antibiotics. For your kids, if you're worried at all that they are having trouble breathing, then see your doctor to get a professional opinion. It sounds like a tough time in your house; much sympathy!

Not sure pink eye: With flu-like symptoms it's difficult to know whether you will develop a full case of the flu. As a viral infection, influenza may also affect  moist mucous membranes of the eye causing discharge. It's contagious so be care full not to spread it around, and to your other eye. Careful cleansing of eyelashes to clean the matter, artificial tear drops, a brief course of a ocular decongestant may help.

Maybe: Reddish discoloration of the eyes is common in upper respiratory infections, and may not always be associated with a viral conjunctivitis (commonly called "pink eye"). The mucous membrane lining the sinuses is connected to the conjunctiva via a small canal (the nasolacrimal duct). Thus any inflammation in the sinuses can carry over into the eye as well, and it can be very asymmetric.

Plenty of fluids.: The flu is a very uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous condition. Good that you are getting better.  Drink fluids, and get rest.  I expect that you will be back to normal soon.  Make sure you get yearly flu shots, as new flu strains appear from year to year.

Jaundiced?: His/her symptoms, when considered together, suggest early onset jaundice due to a liver problem, bile duct/gallbladder problem, or pancreatic disease. This can be serious, may worsen, & deserves urgent physical examination & lab testing. Please get him/her to see a doctor or to present to the emergency room. And absolutely no alcohol.  Yes, you're right on the money!
