Mouth pimples: Herpes will first appear with grouped vesicles on an erythematous base.  Clear pustules.  These can also be painful.  If it is herpes the treatment is symptomatic at first with ointment.  In more severe cases acyclovir or other antivirals may be used.  Take a b complex vitamin each day. Good luck and feel better.

Bad timing..: If this had never happened before then it could be your partner had an outbreak of herpes and it was in its active phase.  It is that persons responsibility to know when kissing or sexual contact is safe.  If they didn't know...Then go see a physician or dentist next time they have an outbreak.  Then they might not pass it on.

Painful?: Could be normal reaction of lingual papillae to acid or astringent.  If they're painful see your doctor.

No: You cannot get a traditional "pimple" on your tongue like on your skin. A pimple on the skin is a blocked oil gland or pore which has become infected with bacteria. The tongue does not have oil glands or pores, so it doesn't get pimples. However, there are all sorts of other lumps and bumps which can form on the tongue (but not pimples). If you have something, get it checked by a dentist or ent.

Irritation/INFECTION: If no pain or slight discomfort, it provably means that you ate something that irritated your tongue.
Also it could very well  be the clinical aspect of herpes (viral infection) or the initial stage of aphtous ulcer(s) (bacterial) in which cases you will experiment burning sensation and/or pain.

Inflamed Papillae: What may appear as a pimple on the back of your tongue could be an inflamed taste bud.  Also, tonsillar tissues are located around the throat in this area in a 'ring' pattern, that may be enlarged or inflamed. Finally, some lesions of this type may be related to oral cancer or std's.  My advise is to visit an oral surgeon or oral pathologist very, very soon for a thorough examination of this area!
