This is a non-specific finding that means your tonsils look slightly enlarged on the imaging. It doesn't translate directly to a diagnosis, and typically has to be correlated to any clinical symptoms you may be having in order to determine the significance of the finding.

how much weight do people loose when they have tonsils out?

Varies.: At age 38, you will have severe pain, requiring a narcotic.  You will not be able to eat as fast and as a result, each swallow will hurt and your intake of food will be limited.  You must continue to drink such liquids as milkshakes and gator-aid.  My guess is that you will lose about 10 pounds.  But after 10-12 days you will put it back on.

: A plexus is a group of veins and are within the tonsillar tissue. These drain blood into the jugular venous system and I assume the blue tissue you're referring to are veins within the tonsil crypts containing unoxygenated blood.

Tonsil/tongue base: Sounds like the junction where the tonsils end and the base of tongue begins. Particularly that they are identical on both side and they have stayed the same for years. If you are at all concerned, you can ask your medical provider at your next physical to be sure.
