CSP stands for: Compulsive Skin Picking is characterised by the continuous picking of the skin to an extent where damage is caused. It is usually the scalp that skin picking starts and later carried out on any part of the body (e.g. face, armpits, etc). It is a part of the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and can lead to Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Talk to your PCP for more information.

May not be : Simple dandruff.  Go see a dermatologist.  May be scalp psoriasis or  some other treatable condition.

Treat the anxiety.: I would see your dr. And see about getting the anxiety treated as that would be the  best solution of all. It's difficult to keep from picking at the area if you feel anxious inside. There are good treatments for this so see your family doctor.

Does this tend to: be a compulsive, recurrent behavior?  See that you suffer from anxiety Disorder and ADHD. First deal with the anxiety. If that doesn't improve things - consider Behavioral therapy or Cognitive behavioral therapy for the picking and scratching. DO NOT PICK: Use an antibacterial SHAMPOO  HOWEVER the REASONS for the Scabs is important as well!!!!!!
Head lice, Psoriasis, Seborrhea are some of the reasons which may be causing the scabs!!!!
See a DERMATOLOGIST and FIND OUT!!

Not too unusual: It's not entirely unusual for the scalp to have spots that build up with dead flakey skin. Have your primary care doctor take a look. There is likely a shampoo or other topical treatment that will help.

Scalp lesion. : If you've had a lesion in your scalp for that long, and it's bleeding, whether you're picking at it or not, you NEED to have it evaluates by a Dermatologist. The scalp is a sun-exposed area.

Seborrheic Dermatiti: Seborrhea dermatitis is often associated with redness, scaling, and crusting.  Seborrhea also can affect other parts of the body, including the face, chest and upper back.     Treatment options include application of selenium sulfide, pyrithione zinc or ketoconazole-containing shampoos, topical ketoconazole cream or terbinafine solution, topical sodium sulfacetamide and topical corticosteroids.
