Depends on organ: Lacerations can occur to solid organs or hollow organs. Spillage of contents and/or blood and/or loss of function are the signs of an internal laceration typically occuring following some sort of injury and commonly but not always associated with pain.

Foreign Body: Typically the smaller the fragments the more difficult they are to remove. If there is specific laceration then it can be opened, debrided under direct visualization using special glasses that magnify small objects. This is usually adequate. Use of a microscope can be needed but rarely is indicated.

Accepted Answer

Yes, like any cut: Scalp lacerations look worse then they feel. Like any laceration they bleed and are painful. The scalp is very vascular (lots of blood vessels) so it tends to be very bloody. Depending on the depth of the laceration, most of these require surgical repair (done with local anesthetic- so not painful). The scalp tends to always heal beautifully.

Two things!: Non-surgical i assume! otherwise, only vigorous sexual activity with a human or anything else inserted into the vagina. I suppose a rough pap smear could also cause this, but again, i assume we're talking about non-medical/surgical causes.

A gynecologist: I would recommend checking in with your gynecologist. I am not sure of the etiology of the laceration but someone who specializes in this area should see you.

Sooner the better: It used to be thought that wounds not closed in the first 6 hours should be left open.  This causes significantly more scarring and therefore no longer is held true.  The answer is as soon as possible.

Accepted Answer

Tendon laceration: Recovery from tendon injuries varieus greatly with the type of injury in question. Flexor tendons need more time to recover and more extensive hand therapy than extensor tendons. In general, most patients should expect a minimum of 3 weeks before they can return to work. In some cases, several weeks are needed before adequate therapy can do its job.

cervical refers o a neck: uterine cervix, or that area betwen the head and shoulders.
