: There is no definitive data as yet- studies are ongoing. It is unlikely that it would  affect every child - if that happened we would know by now. Note  there are many unknown causes of autism  I would not worry but just enjoy the pregnancy love the child.

The severity may depend on the variability of the genes being expressed and to a degree other environmental factors. Sometimes simple minimal fines or consequneces work such as putting a quarter in a family jar.  Rewariding periods of time without cursing with a small token or favorite toy or object they like is a second strategy.  One size or approach does not fit all teens.
