Common: It is not unusual to develop petechia as a result of scratching the skin - the duration of the petechia depends on how vigorously you scratch.  It can last a few minutes, a few hours, or a few days.

if all negative, check side effect profile for meds you are taking

Rash: With the recent onset of this rash, i would see your doctor.  You can try some Diphenhydramine (benadryl), as this will help if it is allergic in origin.  Feel better!

Vascular fragility: Petechiae can be due to low platelet count (which you do not have) or fragile blood vessels, as may happen with increased corticosteroid hormones. If you are overweight, losing weight would help.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

Arthritis ?: It may be part of a larger arthritis syndrome. You need to see your physician. Your evaluation will include lab, imaging along  with a history and physical.  Inflammation is  occuring and it  may be causing the arthritis  and the the blood vessels - getting the petechiae.

Drug,infection: This could be from medication or an infection, but there also could be something wrong with your platelets.

Review your meds: Stress does not sound like a likely cause for petechiae on your trunk.  I'd suggest seeing your doctor about this, and reviewing any medications and/or dietary supplements you might be taking.  Depending on what your doctor thinks is happening, some blood studies may be in order also.

had a cluster of 3 petechia on upper thigh discovered yesterday. today there's 2 -3 more spots on various parts of my thigh. should i wait or see dr?

See someone: If these are really petechiae, it could be a dangerous infection.  If you have had petechiae diagnosed before, it could be the same condition coming back and you must have a doctor.  
OTOH, if they are just bruises, and you did something (like say biking or a fall) that could have caused small bruises, then it would be safe to wait.

Need more info: An MPV at the low end of normal is nothing to be concerned about. Have you lost weight? Do you get fever? If no to both, you are unlikely to have anything serious.
