A member asked:

I have a normal cbc (wbc 8.5 rbc 4.1 plt 331) but have noticed random petechia on legs and chest. doctor confirmed. what cause this with normal cbc?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vascular fragility: Petechiae can be due to low platelet count (which you do not have) or fragile blood vessels, as may happen with increased corticosteroid hormones. If you are overweight, losing weight would help. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
