i have enlarged periportal lymph nodes which have remained the same size for the past 6 months. i  have antiphospholipid syndrome. could that cause it?

APLAS and lymph node: Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome can cause strokes, heart attacks, miscarriages, deep venous thromboses, pulmonary emboli, livedo reticularis, chorea, and several other things but doesn't cause lymphadenopathy per se. It is much more likely that some underlying condition is causing both the lymph nodes and the abnormal antibodies. Please see a hematologist to sort out what could be going on.

Portal veins: The portal veins are around the liver so a periportal cystic lesion is a cyst near those veins. Cysts are fluid filled sacs that can occur anywhere in the body and they are usually a benign finding and are not concerning.

Lymph nodes: See a oncologist-need to be evaluated for infection, cancer, lymphoma etc
Size greater than 1 cm needs evaluation

Radiologist: In cases like yours, I feel the best practice is for your primary care physician to sit down with the radiologist who interpreted your scan and have him outline the possible causes of these findings and suggest whatever further tests or referrals to specialists would bring forth a diagnosis and treatment plan if advisable.

Iron overload: Genetic or acquired iron overload can happen late in women. Hemochromatosis secondary to C282Y MUTATION can be tested and is, most common among them and may cause issues in other organs but this may not be genetic but acquired from excessive transfusion or iron pills. Hence After this liver bx, get tested for ferritin, Plus hemochromatosis genes  panel and see your GI doc.

Not especially..but: These findings on an abdominal CT scan are not especially concerning on their own. And they certainly don't explain unexplained weight loss. So continuing to investigate to find the cause(s) for weight loss is imperative. It may be possible that the liver is contributing to the problem in some way...careful review of all symptoms, their time course and further testing should clarify the problem

Maybe: You should discuss this with your doctor. Do you have underlying liver disease and would be at risk of a problem in the liver?  Liver cysts are usually hypoechoic not hyperechoic.  Adenomyomatosis is a benign condition and is not thought to predispose to cancer.  Please follow up with your MD.

i have been diagnosed with pbc stage 1 10 years ago.i have never had a mrcp, my biopsy said ductopenia, periportal fibrosis, should i have a mrcp? i have a heavy digestion and nauseous,like hangover( no drink alcohol) intolerance sugar and dairy tks?
