3 weeks of hard yellow crust on penis head w/ redness/inflammation. azithromycin (1g) and clotrimazole (2x/day for 10 days) did not work. advice?

Balanitis: Usually in cases like these we treat for infection of the skin with candida (yeast) and also staph/strep bacteria. Prescription nystatin and also an antibiotic like Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) or Keflex. You have been on the wrong medication so far.

Infection: You need to see a local doctor for evaluation and culture of the area - it may be a surface bacterial infection or an std.

Possibly: Though it sounds like a superficial skin infection called balanitis.  Have him seen by his physician, and most antibiotics will clear it up.

A picture is worth : A thousand words. Are you diabetic? Balanitis, glans penis redness and ooze, ? Pimple, may be yeast, fungus or bacteria. You need to go to pcp, urgent care- not er.  May be treated, may be cultured. May have other work up.  Can't do this by phone or internet.

Yes: That’s a bit old for still wearing diapers. Take him to a pediatrician for evaluation to see if there’s any medical cause  or if it’s psychological

: Increased blood supply to the penis occurs during erection and that can cause the color change. STD tests were not necessary unless there was exposure to STD

No: He likely has a small area of balanitis, qhite common around the urinary opening (meatitis) ; due to delicate head of penis rubbing agaist diaper (more common with cloth diapers). Best to leave diaper off when this occurs, color should return to normal within a few hours. Can drape crib with towels to contain urine. Bacitracin can be used. Try to avoid meatal stenosis (narrowing) a complication.

Creams & ointments: If a skin treatment is not rapidly working to alleviate the problem please do not continue to use the cream.  A failure of treatment for skin issues is not uncommon. So, i would contact the prescriber to see what they would do for you next.

i have some redness on my penis head.  it is sentive to the touch.  not the entire penis head is covered in redness but only a part.  do i need to be conserned? do i need to get tested?  note i have had intercourse about 5 months ago.

Balanitis: Likely you have balanitis of the penis. It is usually due to an irritant to the area or yeast. There are other cases too but these are the most likely. I would recommend miconazole or an over the counter yeast medication such as clotrimazoke can resolve your problem. Let me know if it doesn’t resolve it!
