: Yes, there is no cross allergic reaction between Muciprocin (Bactroban) and PCN or Sulfa.

i was prescribed z-pak for strep throat as i am allergic to penicillin. i finished my medication today. i also take 40 mg of escitalopram for anxiety. i took escitalopram 4-6 hours after i took my antibiotic. should i be concerned? i ended treatment?

: These medications can be prescribed to the patient and some of them may need monitoring while being on the treatment. But generally they are tolerated well. I hope you are feeling better.

In : In general you should not take Amoxicillin if you allergic to penicillin. However, vomiting is not indicative of an allergic reaction, rather more likely a side effect. Many studies have shown that most people who say they are allergic to penicillin are actually not. More likely they had a side effect, or developed a non-allergic rash. Still though, i will generally not prescribe any of the penicillin class of medicines to someone who states an allergy- it is not worth the (small) risk as there are plenty of other antibiotics out there. To know if it was alright to stop taking the medication though- i would need to know what you were taking it for.

this may be an odd question, but i shall ask it in any case. is there any evidence that people who are allergic to penicillin  are more likely to have an allergy to some other medications? if so, what?

Possible: Some people who are allergic to penicillin can also react to a class of drug called cephalosporins. But this is rather unusual. The only way to know for sure is to try a drug sometime and see if you react to it. It also makes a difference how severe the reaction was to penicillin.

i have a question my cheek is swollen and i'm in pain i'm on medicated mouth wash and penicillin i've only been on the medication since sunday how lon?

Infection: Can take as long as 48-72 hours for antibiotics to begin reducing spread of infection.  If source I'd SN infected tooth, pills alone will not eliminate infection.  Treatment of the tooth itself will be required.  Sometimes additional or different antibiotic required.  Tell your dentist about your pain and swelling now.

just had 2 molers pulled on friday. the dentist gave me penicillin vk 500mg.. now i'm getting  a ear ache will this medication  help?

It may: It depends on the cause of your ear pain. If it is related to your teeth then likely. If is is a separate problem then another antibiotic may be a better choice. Be checked. All the best.

Tylenol, (acetaminophen) Tramadol,: and then there are the Opiates.

hi i am currently taking penicillin phenoxymethyl can i get steven-johnson syndrome from this medication i am so frightened i am also taking sertraline im so scared im going to get this?
