i have lose stool and diarrhea for 2 month after antibiotics (penicillin g).. no blood nor not too watery sometimes watery and stomach makes weird sound sometimes i tried over the counter medication didn't work for me .. whats wrong with my body.?

: Antibiotic will disrupt the natural good flora of the gut.  Some of the side effects of this can be loose stools.  some people are more susceptible to this than others.
Contact the prescribing Dr. to consult, then you might want to begin taking a probiotic to rebalance the gut bug ecology.  See a natural pharmacist for recommendations on which probiotic would be best.  a common one is florestore.

Don't overtreat: Penicillin won't prevent future attacks, and is appropriate only if there's good reason to think this is strep throat. Antistreptolysin O titers are useful only if actual rheumatic fever is a consideration; don't over-interpret these or any other labs especially when they're in reference range or you'll go crazy. Ask about tonsillectomy given that there's variable evidence / thought.

Different for each: This varies widely, from a few hours (e.g. most oral penicillins, like amoxicillin) to around 10 days (e.g. azithromycin). The quinolones (e.g. ciprofloxacin) and tetracyclines (e.g. doxycycline) typically are gone in 2-3 days.

Yes: Yes, in general penicillen has no negative interactions.  But make sure the prescribing physician has a complete list of all your medications, supplements, and over the counter medications.

on penicillin since yesterday for tonsilitis, coughing up phlegm with blood in and choking on it. is this normal or a badreaction to it?

Likely not: Bad tonsillitis can/does often create swollen,inflamed red tissue that will ooze blood if you cough. It is not a common sign of any drug reaction. I would suck on some ice chips for comfort. This can often help stop a cough.

blood allergy test negative to p. chrysogenum, always told im allergic to penicillin. i even had rash with ceftriaxone. how to interpret this?

Accepted Answer

Rash may be viral: You may have not had a true allergic rash to the cephalosporin, but rather possibly a drug rash associated with the underlying viral illness that you were being treated for with antibiotics. Either way, there are other choices; for now, it seems reasonable to state allergy to penicillins and cephalosporins until such time that you may actually needs them, and then we can do challenge testing.

ASO Titer: Well, Did you have knee pain or leg pain? The complication of strep infection could be reactive Arthritis which is involving the joints, so if that's the case you have been treated for strep infection, ASO becomes positive 1 wk after exposure to Bacteria and stays up in body despite treatment for 6 months. Your leg pain simply might not be related to the Strep infection.
