A physical therapist can give you specific stretches/core strengthening to decrease symptoms, promote healing, and prevent recurrence. If it persists, see a sports medicine physician.

On the other hand, if your question pertains to the abdominal wall, then injury can include herniation, incarceration of an organ, muscle tear (with associated pain), puncture wound from a sharp instrument versus blunt trauma.

i've had muscle twitching in my left pectoral muscle for four days. it happens on and off at different times and at different intensities. no other symptoms or issues. i am 35, exercise 5 days a week, and in good health. what could be the cause?

Electrolyte : Alterations in your electrolytes through loss in sweat may be the cause.  Try drinking fruit juice with a small amount of added salt. Drink enough water so your urine is mostly colorless. If the symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks, it would be prudent to seea doctor.

Many: Chest pain, pain when you move you arm, could even be pain when you take a deep breath. Pain when you push on your chest or under your arm. Pain when you move. You can have weakness if really bad and trouble lifting or trouble moving the arm on the affected side across the body. Don't worry. Just follow your drs advice
