how safe is progesterone tablets for pcos fertility treatment?

Safe; sometimes used: Progesterone or artificial versions (progestins) can be safely used to induce a period for women with pcos who have very few periods (less than 4 a year) or no periods. It does not improve your chances of conceiving because it induces bleeding, not ovulation (egg release). Progesterone can also be given for low Progesterone levels in the 2nd half of a cycle, or to support an early pregnancy.

amh of 0.26. high prolactin. fallopian tubes are good. ovaries are good. 32 yrs old. tsh is also good. on metformin for pcos. fertility specialist isnt concern but i am so worry about not being able to conceive. should i be hopeful?

: Yes! Always be hopeful! If you are having regular periods (and maybe even if you are not), you could certainly be fertile. Do you know how to check your temperature each morning to try to see when you ovulate? Many women with PCOS, on metformin have babies!

Meds: Are you sure you need any or all of those meds. Please discuss with your primary doctor.
Have your doctor tell you what each of the three meds are for.

No: Pcos can disturb ovulation & fertility.  The woman free of this condition would have better chances.  By "older, " though, i hope you don't mean post-menopause?  Pregnancy would not happen for either woman after that point.

Not the cysts : Pcos is a hormonal imbalance in which you have an ovulation problem and you produce too much male hormone. The cystic in the name comes from the fact that there are lots of follicles which don't develop properly and look like little cysts. The cysts are not the problem. The hormone imbalance can affect your fertility and cause other problems.

Ovarian drilling: This is not a common procedure, as most doctors prefer to treat pcos with medications, diet, exercise, supplements, and even acupuncture. However, laparoscopic ovarian drilling can provide temporary cycle regularity, and improve fertility. There is some risk, however, that the procedure can shorten the normal life of the ovary and reduce fertility in the distant future.

Different issues: AMH reflects the number of eggs left in your ovary. PCOS decrease fertility in a different way. It inhibits ovulation.

Weight loss: The 1st treatment for PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) in overweight/obese women is weight loss, which must be a total lifestyle change in eating&amp;exercise habits. In some cases, appetite suppressants (eg phentermine) can be helpful as a short-term aid; as weight comes off &amp; appetite signals start working properly, it is no longer needed. Without permanent lifestyle change, phentermine = failure.

Yes: Clomid (clomiphene) and metformin can often help a patient ovulate if the have pcos.
