Not likely: Your PCP prescribed Tamiflu to shorten the course of the flu. Your symptoms are more likely due to the flu itself not the medication. Drink fluids and rest. Treat fever with Tylenol and for worsening cough or prolonged fever, please see your physician.

I would not: The use of one of the ingredients- codeine is considered improper for children. It has been removed from the formulary for kids in the US and is never used now unless under direct  supervision of a physician.

Accepted Answer

Yes: It contains paracetamol or acetaminophen that can typically affect liver function and cause an increase in liver enzymes. The condition you are taking the medicine for may also cause liver damage. Talk to your doc about options going forward.

Multi ingredient: I prefer single ingredient preparations for children.  Start with paracetamol.  It gives better control over what goes into your child.

i am 2 days post opt from a nissen fundoplication and am having some payne in the chest area where the wrap was after eating and feels like food there?

Inform your surgeon: Early postop after fundoplication, there is some edema, or swelling, in the area of the wrap. That can narrow the diameter of the esophagus (swallowing tube), & one may have trouble swallowing all the way into the stomach. If you have lower chest pain & a sensation of food getting stuck, notify your surgeon. An occasional patient needs esophageal dilation after fundoplication.

i have a lumbar contusion and it happened about to months ago i now have shooting payne in my lower back worse then ever it goes up and down my spine ?

A bit of an odd: pattern of pain. Shooting often implies a nerve pain and the pain goes in the pattern of where the nerve goes. There is a nerve that goes OUT from the spine and DOWN the leg (sciatic nerve; sciatica). MRI would show a disk; x ray would NOT.
Up and down might be something OUTside of the spine and then it is tender on touching it.

IUD pain: If the pain is severe, go back to the provider who installed the IUD, as it may be in the cervical canal instead of inside the uterus, or go to an emergency room for an exam if the provider's office is closed.

hi there, this morning i woke up with what feels like a pinch nerve. i took a mypaid forte which did nothing, then took two norflex at 2pm still nothing worked and now im trying two gen-payne? is it okay to have mixed all of these meds?

Be careful: you are responsible for knowing what medications you are taking, and taking them as directed.  I would hope you have an actual diagnosis for you "pinched nerve", and that you have a chronic pain diagnosis for codeine and norflex. There is always a danger in mixing multiple medications. Over the counter paracetamol can kill you if you take a very large dose.

Ibuprofen: Muscle and tendon problems are best addressed with anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen ot advil (ibuprofen). However, these medications can be hard on the stomach so you should ask your doctor if they are right for you.

is it safe to take pain medication such as tremahexal and gen payne when trying to conceive. especially after ovulation?

SAFETY IN PREGNANCY: All drugs are accompanied by a statement endorsing whether that drug or its metabolites are able reach the fetus in pregnancy.  The pharmacist should, but may not be aware of this statement, but one should ask.  Unless such a statement assuring safety is present, I would avoid any drug after ovulation and certainly during the first trimester of pregnancy.
