I am 2 days post opt from a nissen fundoplication and am having some payne in the chest area where the wrap was after eating and feels like food there?

Inform your surgeon: Early postop after fundoplication, there is some edema, or swelling, in the area of the wrap. That can narrow the diameter of the esophagus (swallowing tube), & one may have trouble swallowing all the way into the stomach. If you have lower chest pain & a sensation of food getting stuck, notify your surgeon. An occasional patient needs esophageal dilation after fundoplication.

Common. : This is a common early complaint. Make sure you are following your surgeon's diet instructions i tell my patients to be sure to eat slowly, take small bites, eat frequent small meals and chew their food. Hope this helps.
