Dysrhythmia: This irregularity of heart rhythm can be caused by different mechanisms like dropped beats seen in types of heart block or compensatory pauses after premature beats. The rhythm has to be identified by ekg  or,if necessary, by heart monitoring as an outpatient. A cardiologist is best qualified to evaluate and treat you. Appropriate tests will be ordered.

Breathing pattern: If he is growing and developing normally, without any air hunger, rapid breathing or upper airway noise, it is probably within normal variation in breathing pattern. 
If you notice snoring problems with his development, excessive sleepiness,  I would recommend an evaluation.

Yes: Try it. You cannot swallow &amp; breathe at the same time, both functions use parts of the same channel. An infant should pause during the feeding process although many will not detach or loose perceived suction.

Depends on situation: We are finding that any kid who snores a lot in sleep prior to age 4-5 will likely develop sleep apnea if it is not present already.Evaluation by an ENT is indicated.

Shallow breathing: Your son may be shallow breathing vs have a true pause in breathing. Does he snore at night or mouth breathe? He may be sweating due to having too much bedding on bed.  Followup with your pediatrician re the breathing pauses and sweating at night.

Periodic breathing: Pauses in breathing in the neonates are called "periodic breathing". It occurs in 80% of full term and 100% of preterm babies. These pauses are usually brief ( 3 seconds). If they are brief and are not associated with changes in color (cyanosis or pallor) or a drop in heart rate, then it does not require treatment and resolve with time ( by 44 weeks post-conception).

i have a problem everyday when i have hormonal anxiety i pause when i breathe like i stop breathing then start breathing again and its during the everyday. at night my jaws start clenching. is this anxiety ? ideas

Possibly: This may well be related to anxiety. However, if you are having breathing issues, it is also important to rule out any underlying medical causes.
