2 answers: The antrum is the farther part of the stomach before it leads into the small intestine.  A mass there could be intrinsic (within) or extrinsic (outside) the stomach.  If the pancreas has a mass, it could indent into the antrum.  Irregular z line is a finding in the esophagus, where the esophageal lining meets the lining of the stomach is not in the usual position and is a sign of inflammation.

It depends to a...: ...great degree on the type of biopsy that's done and to a lesser degree on your level of anxiety.  For a fine needle biopsy, you may need only local anesthesia and light sedation.  More invasive procedures require heavier sedation or even general anesthesia.  In any case, you shouldn't eat anything after midnight the night before and you need to arrange to have someone to take you home afterwards

Cancer: Hi, cancer needs to be ruled out for sure, although the report doesn't say anything about what kind of mass. But because it extends to pancreas makes me think the possibility of a malignancy is high. Now the question is where the primary source is and biopsy can give you answer and therefore a prognosis.

Biopsy Needed: I think most of us would understand your worry but would also caution you that until the tissue is actually biopsied and evaluated by a pathologist it would be unwise to predict the outcome or type of problem this could represent. I am sure your dad's doctor is going to recommend some test to determine specifically what this abnormal tissue is.

May be: Biopsy may not have sampled the right area. Not seeing tumor/cancer in the biopsy does not mean there is no cancer elsewhere in the body. However, not all masses are cancer. The issue is more complicated than can be addressed in this forum. You may wish to get a second opinion from a  different GI doctor.

Sounds like lung Can: Your biopsy shows cancer, likely arising in your lung.You need to see an oncologist who can run more tests to do the staging. This means trying to determine if it is localized to one spot or could it have spread inside the body. The stage will determine the type of appropriate treatment.

my aunt is 75-year-old. her biopsy result is ulcerated moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma in the ascending colon. ct for abdomen and pelvis and cea results are ok. may i know what the stage is and what treatment is suitable for her?

: The stage of Colon Cancer is determined based on the extent of spread of tumor through the wall of the colon and presence or absence of lymph node metastasis. In order to check both of these areas, she needs to have removal of her Cancer and the regional lymph nodes and submit them to a pathologist for examination of this specimen. Based on a normal CT scan, she does not have stage-4 disease.

The most likely: Answer is metastatic disease with colon as the primary.  The next test would likely be a colonoscopy.

Sounds right: With the limited information you have provided, it appears he has cancer of that portion of his colon.  Surgery is usually the definitive treatment for such.  Good luck.
