what might be causing me to feel heart palpitations while sleeping?

Not sure: I would need much more information.  Is it when you lay down then i would think hiatal hernia.  I am confused about the "while sleeping" unless you were being monitored.

Chest pain: chest pain, if cardiac related, should not respond to anti-anxiety meds unless your anxiety is very high to cause cardiovascular problems.
would still have your heart evaluated to get a definitive diagnosis

i hve anxiety. i experienced heart palpitations lately while sleeping. it wakes me up from sleep &my heart beat really fast. is that normal? i am diagnosed with anxiety & depression and i was feeling ok few month before. start to hve that in october.

See a doctor: The heart's  is not "copper wire." it's living tissue that changes behavior depending upon hormonal and nervous system factors, among other things. People often feel heartbeats when they lie down because (a) there are no other distractions so you notice it more (when do you start to hear all the noises your house makes?) and (b) hormonal and nervous system alter  the hearts electrical properties.

Anxiety from stress: This sounds likely to be a reaction to the stress you are under from your recent loss.  Increased anxiety causes Adrenalin surges which result in palpitations and light headedness.  Would talk to your doctor.  Avoid stimulants like caffeine and keep alcohol to a minimum.  Stay well hydrated.  You might need a mild anxiety aid lie xanax (alprazolam) or an antidepressant for a time.  Cardiac tests if sx continue.

Palpitations: Continue the medicine prescribed and in time the anxiety or panic feelings
should subside. Also, you can blow 20 x into a paper bag to breathe CO2
back and do it slowly, forcefully, which often calms things down.

Test thyroid: Hi. I suppose that could be many things, including anxiety, worry, etc, but I would at least have your doctor check your TSH and free T4. I hope you get to the bottom of this and get some good sleep!

Because its quiet.: Palpitation usually aren't really more frequent at night, just more noticeable.  When you lay down and are still and quiet, the irregular heart beats are often more noticeable.
