mild concussion a 1yr still get symtoms of spaciness, nck pain, bck of head sometimes hurts. is this pcs. should i just be resting n all will go away?

Maybe mild: If you still have persistent symptoms after  one year from a concussion, you should see a neurologist to further evaluate your symptoms.  Maybe it was more of an impact than previously thought.  If it's not gone after 1 year, there may be another cause.

does it take awhile for a slight concussion to the back of the head to heal?

Accepted Answer

Yes: A concussion is a "bruise" to the brain.  Depending upon the severity and if there is any brain swelling or pressure change in the skull, symptoms can vary widely.  It's a good idea to stay in contact with your doctor or neurologist after a head injury to watch for new symptoms but it may take weeks to recover.

Comments: Closed head injuries, without true concussion are very common events in life.  If you have headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, imbalance, blurring or doubling of vision, contact your doctor.

Doubt concussion: By definition, a concussion is loss of consciousness, loss of memory or combination of both.  You "just banged my head pretty hard", "three months ago".  Why are you really concerned, do you have new symptoms?

i have a history of several mild concussions. since then, every light bump on the head makes me feel like i'm getting another one ( symptoms return for a time). are these new concussions? is this pcs?

Not necessarily: What you are experiencing is probably a migrain that is triggered by the mild head trauma.  the area that triggers migraine is very sensitive to brain distortions resulting from mild head trauma.

No: To have a concussion you have to have an impact.  Unless you are having violent head tics against a hard surface.

Accepted Answer

NO: Not uncommon to take more than 24-48 hours to clear the headache.  Make sure you are giet.  This includes little or no reading as well as very little phsycial activity.  If still present tomorrow see your primary care physician.

i hit my head hard on the wall four days ago, mild headache started after two days, no other problems. what should i do? is it concussion?

The first thing you: can do is to stop banging your against walls and other solid objects. Since you developed a headache afterwards, you probably had a mild concussion. You need to get plenty of sleep, take a non-narcotic pain med as needed for the headache and DEFINITELY protect your head during the healing period.

i hit my head. i would not consider it a big hit, but i moved my head fast a little. the next day (today) i noticed a slight pressure feeling in my head, and it is stronger now. can this be a concussion if i dont have more symptoms?

Go to ER: You should see a Dr. There should not be an increased feeling of pressure in your head. Besides concussions, brain injury can cause pooling of blood within the various areas of the brain. This becomes a medical emergency when the pressure  begins to put pressure on the brain itself and circulation becomes compromised. The Dr may choose to watch you carefully or do a CT scan.

in 2016 i had a fall, with injuries mainly on the right side of my body. i had a mild concussion even though i didnt hit my head.
since then local anaesthetic doesnt work on the right side of my body nor have my right side injuries healed.
why?

Top down thinking: After a concussion you can develop long term neurologic problems that are difficult to resolve because the nerves can be ‘stunned’ (in laymen’s terms). There is a way to help your nerves recover: get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy low sugar diet with a lot of fruits and vegetables, get daily exercise at whatever capacity you are at.
