Medical exam by MD: If this lump is anything bigger than one CM, you should watch it closely. Check it once every month and measure it for its size and dimensions. If there is increase in growth, then you need to go see your primary care doctor who may do an ultrasound examination to monitor it for any further growth in which case a Biopsy would be indicated to make sure that it is not cancerous.

It depends on the si: Any lumps that are pailess and growing in size over a period of 1 or 2 months require examination by a physician to check for cancer. I would not be concerned unless it has a size over a quarter(one inch or more)and it has been present more than 4-6 weeks and appears to be getting bigger.

Probably lipoma: Usually this is a lipoma (benign fatty deposit). Ask your internist to look at it. Do not just ignore, but probably nothing to worry about.

He/she can determine if it should be watched or treated by excision/biopsy.

Lump: This would have to be examined by your physician or dermatologist in order to make a diagnosis. It may be a benign fatty growth(lipoma). Absence of tenderness and redness means no inflammation or infection.

Lipoma: You have a painless lump under your skin.  It may be a fatty tumor.  Called. Lipoma.  Have the mass/bump looked at when you see your doctor during the regular yearly visit.
Note if it changes in size, color or draonage

Possible fatty tumor: called a lipoma or a fibrous tissue tumor ( fibroma)- these are usually quite benign; however, requires a thorough observation and medical evaluation. I suggest a dermatology exam.

Happens sometimes...: 29 y/o says Painful lump on buttocks after injection? Happens sometimes if the injecting needle nicks some blood vessels &amp; one gets a local bleed (Hematoma). Most disappear w/o much help but sometimes  Warm Moist Compress  helps. If it gets too painful/ red or have a discharge coming out then one must see a Doctor to Rule Out/ Treat infection.
