will nasal endoscopy be painful for my daughter?

Maybe: For routine trans-oral endoscopy, sedation is routinely offered.  Transnasal endoscopy is an alternative where the viewing tube is tiny enough to pass through the nose.  In the latter case, sedation may be deferred. Keep in mind the test lasts only 3-5 minutes.  Talk with her doctor about what sedation options she can have at the center where her test will be performed.

will it be painful for my two and a half year daughter to have a nasal endoscopy?

Accepted Answer

Not really: There will be potentially some kicking and crying, but in reality there is no significant pain, but rather a strong unfamiliar discomfort.  She probably will not be a huge fan of the procedure, but it should not be traumatic.

nasal packing removal in 2 hours after septoplasty surgery 4 days ago.  how can i ease the painful procedure? please suggestions?  thank you all.

Pain: Your doctor should provide suggestions on that as well. He may choose to give you a pain killer prior to that (called premedication). The choice should be his since he knows you better.

i get small but very painful (only to touch) bumps on the inside of my nasal passage.  they last 1-2 days and disappear.  happens every few weeks.

Dryness: Your mucus membranes in the nasal passages may be too dry and this makes them susceptible to infections(small pustules). You also may catch more colds.  To avoid such dryness, lower your thermostat and you may need a humidifier during the winter. Try coating  the insides of your nostril with a very thin film of vaseline daily.

what is this big extremely painful bump inside my nasal ala? i've had over a week n very painful.it bleeds and has puss aswell..what can i do? thanks

Pimple in nose: Would follow up with doc may need topical antibiotic like mupirocin in nose to treat.  Staph bacteria can reside inside the nose and actually be a source of facial pimples.  F/U with doc

been having sinus pain on one side for a year a few times a week, but now more often and more painful. also have white post nasal drip. atb didnt help?

ENT evaluation: Might need an imaging study, a CT for example, if evidence of chronic sinusitis or another problem, short courses of antibiotics alone won't help, other treatment(s) may be needed,good luck

Stop It: Spray saline into your nostrils frequently to flush out allergens and irritants. You will get the best care in a long term relationship with a provider who knows you over time. Discuss this with that provider.

NONE: Use vaseline or aquaphor.

i have painful spot inside one of my nasal cavities/nostrils. it is on the outer wall, not the septum. i have had this for some time, but today is quite painful. i cannot feel a growth. who do i see to have it assessed?

Painful spot: Any lesion of more than 2 weeks duration requires investigation. Please see an Otolaryngologist, your General Physician, or Urgent Care.
