Sialadenitis: Hello, there are salivary glands in the areas you described. The submandibular gland is under the front sides of your jaw. The submandibular duct and sublingual glands lie in your floor of mouth under your tongue. The ducts can get blocked from inflammation or stone, you can have severe pain, especially right after starting a meal. Your history of Hashimoto's increases risk of glandular disease.

It may be an: inflamed lymph node - they usually reduce back down in size over time. If it is red, hot, tender with streaking, pus  or there is fever - might have an infected cyst (would get med eval for that).

Soft Tissue Edema: Most likely you tried to help this situation out by pressing or mashing on the site to try and "get the stuff out".   The question is did it start draining or not.  If not the condition could get worse.  Also, when you have an area like this, pressing and mashing will usually led to scarring or changes in the pigment in your skin down the road.  See your doctor and get some treatment/advice.
