Bladder neck spasm.: Pain at the end of urination, especially if it radiates to the tip of the penis, are usually due to spasm of the bladder neck. This can be due to infection,  irritation, or overactivity of the bladder and urinary tract. If this persists see your physician for a physical exam and urinalysis. Describe carefully the character of the pain. If it worsens, evaluation by a urologist might be necessary.

Concerned: This may be the start of a urinary tract infection. This is a common infection after surgery especially if you had a Foley catheter placed during the surgery.

Bladder pain ?'s: Pain with urination is usually a reliable sign of infection.  Chronic urethritis may also give rise to pain, and over time can contribute to what is called an "overactive bladder". First obtain a urine culture and treatment if positive, and if sympoms recur , see a gyn or urologist for prophylactic treatment.

See MD for help: You need to see a primary care physician initially for exam &amp; lab tests, especially urinalysis and STD testing if sexually active esp. if  not in long term monogamous  relationship.  There are many possible causes of this burning at the end of urination, urinary tract infection, urethritis, tiny polyp in the urethra, std type of infection and more.  If pain is severe, go to ER, otherwise see MD

my urethra burns and is very painful towards the end of urination. i only excrete small amount of urine and there is pink when wiping. please explain!?

Urethritis: There is inflammation in or around the urethra, this is due to infection or other inflammatory condition like uti. Herpes or other std should also be considered. Get tested promptly.
