Exercise: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated.

Ribcage pain: This may be due to hurting ribs. Costochondritis (inflammation around ribcage joints) can cause this.

Many things: It could be related to the food you eat.  It may be gallstones.  It could be your liver or pancreas. Kidney stones on the right will cause pain. Also it could be due to your appendix.  Get checked out by your primary care and they can help steer you in the right direction/.

May be a hernia. : You should make an appt with a flesh and blood doc who can examine you directly, not a virtual Doctor. If you have not found someone to your satisfaction in Brooklyn then I have an office in Manhattan. It sounds like you might have either a direct or indirect hernia. If you indeed have that as the cause of your problem there is a good surgical fix for it!

Worsening pain: With flank, waist, or back pain that's getting worse, we think of things like kidney stones (even without painful urination), lower back muscle strain... Less likely something like appendicitis if you don't have nausea, fevers, loss of appetite, however it could be a lot of things, so please get checked out!
