pain on tips of fingers of my left hand?

More information: Dear JackG,  unfortunately you gave us little information.  Pain in the tip of the fingers could be many things like trauma/microtrauma/excessive use,
vascular or neurological problems.  Maybe you can report with more information, like your age, duration, change in finger appearance, change in sensation or strength and prior episodes. Do you smoke?

Infection: Sounds like you might have an infection. Better see doctor for treatment before it gets worse

Glomus tumor: Is your finger tip very sensitive to cold as well? If so, you may have what is known as a glomus tumor. This is a benign mass that can be very painful to the touch and very sensitive to temperature changes. You should get into a hand surgeon and have it checked out. Good luck!

What color is it?: Frostbite means loss of circulation so your finger's color should nit be normal.

Depends: Important to know where on yoiur finger you sustained the injury. You may have injured a nerve or tendon. See your physician asap. P.S. Are you up to date with your tetanus vaccine?

Ice: Try ice, tylenol, (acetaminophen)Motrin  and splinting the finger so it doesn't move or bump into anything. If worsening get rechecked where you had the stitches placed.

my wife cut a small slice out of tip of finger.  the bleeding was stopped, wrapped in gauze.  it throbs.  anything else to do?

Signs of infection: watch out for any sign of infection, wash daily with warm water and soap, then clean gauze.

It will form guickly: if the blood supply is not sufficient to keep the tissue alive. See a doctor before you loose your finger and see a doctor for rehab before you loose your life!

lump detected on side of thigh that is hard and fixed. can't see it but can feel it under skin.  size of the tip of finger. 
should i be worried?

In that location: "worrisome" "lumps" are RARE...get it checked out but its probably a calcified lymph gland or sebaceous cyst.
