why do i have pain on my right side where my kidney is located.?

Back pain: Pain in area includes muscle, pinched nerve, kidney pathology such as stone infection and yes cancer. Need to see physician and history physical labs x-rays to sort out diagnosis.

Back pain,coughing: Flu A causes fever, cough, which can cause back pain. Parvovirus can lower red blood count. If not better check blood and urine.

?under sh.blade: I think you mean under the shoulder blade since you say he points to the kidney area.If his pain is bad take him to an urgent care center or ER for radiographic evaluation.If he canwait till tomorrow,give him OTC pain piils till he can see his dr tomorrow.If there is fever 103 or more go to ER.Difficult to say if it is musculoskeletal pain without accurate history and physical.Hope all turns OK.

Let his surgeon know: The back pain and the radiation to the penis could represent irritation to the nerves that lie in the back,  This could be from inflammation or fluid collection, either sterile or infected, that is affecting the nerves in the area where the appendix was removed.  Let his surgeon know - additional imaging tests may be necessary.
