Pain: Abdominal pain with running can be several things gas in the intestines or muscle pain or from muscle fatigue and hernia and  rarely serious issues. See a physician for in person exam for specific diagnosis and treatment

Sharp pains: Sharp, shooting pains in the abdomen may be from transient intestinal gas or pinched nerve. If she has had prior abdominal surgery, adhesions can be a cause. Another possibility is a small hernia in the groin or abdominal wall or umbilicus. Pelvic abnormalities are a possible cause as well. I recommend an evaluation by her  physician or an abdominal surgeon if symptoms persist.

Many possibilities!: First, the "stomach area" means different locations to different people. So, we divide the abdomen (tummy) into 4 quadrants (quarters). The left upper has the stomach and some intestine, and can hurt from gastritis, ulcers, reflux, etc.  The right upper has the liver and gall bladder, which hurt when there are gallstones or sludge. The right lower has the appendix (hurts in appendicitis). Etc...

Could be gallblader: Could be any number of things. The relationship to eating suggests gall bladder. Colon and stomach related pain can also be a cause. Start with an abdominal ultrasound and possibly a Ct scan or hida scan.

Stomach or Abdomen?: If stomach, consider taking an antacid/drink some milk (one time just for a diagnosis. Don't drink milk for this on an on-going basis). If symptoms resolve, feel better, maybe stomach related, and would see your GI doctor. If no relief, may be your heart, and would go to the hospital. If you smoke, have a family history of heart disease, are over-weight, would go to hospital by ambulance.

Dull discomfort: The normal U/S is reassuring. Intermittent vague symptoms that have been going on for 2 years doesn't suggest serious pathology. Perhaps a mild irritable superficial nerve or abdominal muscle is the cause. You could have an abdominal examination by a gastroenterologist or general surgeon for an opinion.

What : What you described can easily be a presentation of an acute appendicitis. It can often present as right lower abdominal pain and is often associated with gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Appendicitis is a condition that should be diagnosed asap, because if left untreated it can lead to serious consequences such as sepsis (infection of the blood) and death in some cases. So for anyone reading this post abdominal pain is serious and should most always be evaluated by a medical provider.

Getting lean : There are no exercises that will specifically attack abdominal fat--all you can do is get as lean as you can by eating less and exercising more. Central obesity is very important to control in order to avoid long term risks of diabetes and hypertension and early heart attack.

Age: Fat deposition in the lower abdomen will happen as we get older usuallly past the age of thirty. It is the normal result of aging and gravity. Two things we cannot seem to avoid.

Hard to say: Constipation would be my first thought. But i would definitely go see your primary care doctor for an abdominal exam. They may decide to do an x-ray or ultrasound if something hard is felt in there and they aren't sure what it is. If this is constipation they can prescribe a bowel regimen.
