A member asked:

She has a sharp stitch pain in her lower right stomach area. very hard to breath in and very painful. it dissipates this is the second time ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sharp pains: Sharp, shooting pains in the abdomen may be from transient intestinal gas or pinched nerve. If she has had prior abdominal surgery, adhesions can be a cause. Another possibility is a small hernia in the groin or abdominal wall or umbilicus. Pelvic abnormalities are a possible cause as well. I recommend an evaluation by her physician or an abdominal surgeon if symptoms persist.
