Not clear: The pain is located on the left but the right leg is turned out- this may be an adaptive response to the left buttock pain. I assume the crawling sensatioin is on the left and standing/walking makes it worse. If correct you may be dealing with sciatica. I would suggest seeing your primary for referral to a pain specialist for further evaluation.

Can cause pain: however what it is is another matter. What you describe could be an abscess. Dorsal places it at a location of synovial cyst. It is best to discuss the findings with your doctor to plan your next step in treatment.

Nerve pain: The needle insertion site should be monitored for signs of infection including pus, redness and swelling. The pins/needles and tingling may be associated with nerve inflammation due to the needle insertion. 
Rest, drink fluids, monitor your temperature and use Motrin for pain relief. If the pain/tingling and other symptoms continue, please notify your PCP immediately.

Sounds like comedone: Many things can cause such bumps but if they have a black tip, it sounds like something called a closed comedone, which is common with acne. But it can be at any clogged pore or hair follicle. Increasing pain, redness or drainage could mean they have become infected. Otherwise, good skin care and using soap and water, and keeping the area dry should help.

Sciatica: Sciatica can result from irritation. Of the sciatic nerve anywhere from the spinal cord level or further down the leg.  He should have an exam and imaging if this is long standing.  May benefit for physical therapy, osteopathic manipulation, chiropractic manipulation, or medication.
