A member asked:

I often get a series of painful pimples, mostly tiny but some larger, @ bottom of butt cheek where it meets leg. what causes this & how do i stop it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Could be viral: A common skin infection can cause this. It's a type of herpes virus called herpes simplex. It's also a common mouth infection in children. See a doctor when you next have a breakout. If it is this type of virus, there are antiviral meds that can help, such as acyclovir or Valtrex.
