More than that: Gerd does not typically cause any extremity symptoms.  The pain and numbness and difficulty breathing are worrisome, but less so given your age and listed lack of any other health issues.  Much of your pain could be caused by a cervical spine issue, but not shortness of breath.  Get in to see your pcp.

Leg/arm numbness: This suggests spinal cord compression of some degree. If you have a disk/spur causing pressure on the front of the spinal cord, this would explain unilateral arm/leg symptoms. Improvement with traction suggests soft tissue (disc). Not emergent, but keep an eye on this for any worsening. If you've had for 11 years, then ok to deal with it until not tolerable or weakness/imbalance ensues.

had neck c5-6 fusion and l4,5,s1 fusion in 2003/4. exper numb and pain in big toe & 2 that follow it on both feet. also have intense left shoulder pain and numb middle,ring and pinky also the palm. right shoulder pain started. what would cause this?

Orthopedist: Hi.
The symptoms you mention are probably due to the vertebral fusion; they could also be due to fibromyalgia a conditions that causes those same symptoms. I recommend an orthopedist or rheumathologist evaluation for proper treatment.
Increasing physical activity may help.

Nerve irritation : In all likelihood, either you are experiencing irritation of the nerves that run from your neck and shoulder to your hand. On the other hand (no pun intended), your diabetes, or some other issue could be affecting your nerves and causing a peripheral neuropathy that could be causing it. Either way, you should let your doctor know so the appropriate things can be checked.

Rest: And short term NSAIDs topical or oral May provide relief. Assuming your blood work is normal would assume your workouts are not helping. If no improvement with conservative measures, May need imaging to rule out any rotator cuff tears that may be addressed surgically

This is not a good forum for this question as we can not diagnose &quot;pinched nerve&quot; without examination and testing. Your doctor may order a nerve conduction test coupled with an emg, or an MRI if they have not done so already. Discuss with your doctor.

Numbness, lumps: These could be related, as a lump (nodule or mass) may cause pressure on a superficial nerve in that area.  Grinding is common with some people's joints (crepitus) and if not painful is of little concern.  If the lump and not the joint is making the grinding noise, perhaps it is time to get it checked out!
