Start by....: Start by seeing and consulting with your local general dentist. He\she will evaluate your dental problems and refer you, if necessary, to someone with more training and experience treating patients with tmd	mjoint problems if that is what is needed. On the other hand, your pain may be related to any one of a number of tooth and\or gum issues.

TMJ: TMJ stands for the "temperomandibular joint" which is the jaw joint. This pain means there is some type of injury to that joint. This could be from clenching or grinding your teeth, excessive gum chewing,  or a bite problem. See your dentist.

Relax with ice: Most jaw pain i see is related to tmj. I treat people with night guards to stop the causative agent from happening in the first place. However if you are in an acute pain stage, resting your jaw (no hard foods) and ice therapy, (10 mins on 10 off) with otc NSAID helps a majority of my patients. You did not mention if this has happened before or if specific triggers caused this pain. Tmj/tmd.

Dislocated: You have may dislocated your jaw if the pain has not gone away. The jaw a joint where 1 of the bones may pop out of place. It may pop back in itself when you open your mouth and the pain will go away (may still be a little sore but not painful). If your jaw will not stop hurting, see your doctor or dentist and they can put it back in place for you to relieve the pain.

Sorry but..: Sorry but this requires an exam, x-rays and some tests that need to be done personally and not over the internet. How long ago was the rct and crown done? When did the symptoms first appear? &quot;no one knows&quot;?- who have you seen? This may require a second opinion by an endodontist and\or general dentist. A cbct scan (3d image) may be helpful with a diagnosis.
