Yes: That may certainly give you some relief but you will be better served to find out what's causing your ankle aches and pains.

Need more specifics: Please provide more history.  When does this occur?  What were you doing when you first noticed this pain?  Is it constant, or intermittent?   What makes it better or worse?  Any other conditions or illnesses you are being treated for?

Need more info: It's hard to diagnose dermatologic problems without seeing them . Also knowing your age is important.Please see your family physician who can help solve this problem.

Circulation: You may have interfered with venous return blood flow to the heart.  Important that you be examined immediately.

Piper may get paid.: If the ankle bruise or sprain is severe enough and your subsequent activity is intense enough, then most likely you will be paying the piper for your decision to participate. If this is the case, be ready for it. Be sure to have ice, compression wrap and possible crutches at the ready, just in case you need them.

YES: Depending upon the severity of the sprain, swelling can extend to the foot. My question to you-without seeing a doctor, how can you be sure it's "just a sprain." Most ankle sprains, I think, are undertreated resulting in lingering problems.

got a little blister on ankle that might be a mosquito bite, its open & itches like crazy, band aid on & small clear fluid coming out, what is it?

Blister: Since there is itching it may be a bite or a very localized contact dermatitis such as poison ivy. At this time, keep the lesion clean,pat dry and apply a cortisone type cream to reduce itching. Spreading redness and warmth would suggest secondary bacterial infection which could need both topical and oral antibiotic. See MD as needed.

i slipped down stairs 3 days ago. have swelling and bruising on the outside of my left ankle starting on the joint making almost a band shape to the back of my foot, left side of heel to pinky toe. foot is kinda numb and very cold to touch. what now?

Seek medical care : Given the traumatic history that you have given, I would recommend seeing a doctor and getting X-rays.  If not right away go to the emergency room if you have insurance. I would recommend staying off it until evaluated. I would initiate contrast bath at this stage of the injury. Hot and cold soaks.

i do not have diabetes. i have a wide constricting band that goes from the top of my foot and wraps all the way around the arch. tight to ankles/ toes?

Band Aid.: From your description, you just feel a tightness as opposed to the skin being actually tight from edema. This sounds like a neuropathy or nerve entrapment limited to the foot area. Even possible low grade trauma (shoes) to the area. The  best way to find out is to visit your Doctor for a referral to a neurologist.

i have a damaged it band in my left leg, how  can this be repaired?

IT band: Very unsusual to have a damaged it band. It can be chronically inflamed. First try stretching, nsaids drugs or a cortisone injection. If you still have pain get an MRI to determine the exact pathology and then discuss with an orthopedic surgeon.
