? ulnar nerve: being pinched, can happen with repetetive twisting / rotatory movement of arm or forearm, just rest , and take painkillers, unless contraindicated, if problem continues,  see your doctor, good luck

i keep getting pain from my elbow to my middle finger. happens on both sides but only side at a time. the pain is like arthritis pain but it comes and goes every 30 seconds. and it happens mostly at night. what could be going on?

: You have not had arthritis so you really dont know what that pain is. If it was something serious you would not just have it mostly at night. I would suggest a thoro exam by a neurologist if it persists

Impingement: An impingement of a nerve could cause this symptom with radiation of Pain from the finger upwards to the forearm. A hand SURGEON is best qualified to evaluate and advise you. He/she may schedule an emg to assist in diagnosis and to localize the site of possible nerve impingement.

Many reasons: There are many reasons for these symptoms including pressure on nerves at the elbow or wrist. Are you possibly sleeping in a way that causes such pressure at these joints? Doctor can evaluate: Such symptoms may be due to a problem in the arm itself or in the nerves coming out of the spine and going to the arm.  A primary care doctor, or a physical medicine doctor (PM&amp;R doctor), can evaluate. A neurologist or an orthopedic doctor may be consulted, if needed. Some people get nerve entrapment problems at the elbow.

Trigger finger.: Your flexor tendon has a nodularity that is causing it to get hung up on the a1 pulley in the palm of your hand.  If you have no contraindciations you may try rest (buddy tape your finger to its neighbor) and non steroidal anti inflammatory agents. If this does not work will need to consider injections or surgery.

Ulnar nerve: The ulnar nerve supplying the little finger and half the ring finger can become compressed at the cubital tunnel along the medial elbow causing numbness. This is the most likely problem. Involvement of the middle finger raises questions. Seek care with a hand surgeon or neurologist.

Ulnar?: You could possess a pinched nerve at the elbow, termed cubital tunnel syndrome.  Sometimes, nerves are pinched at the wrist and cause similar symptoms.  Check with a hand specialist, get diagnosis confirmed, and treated.

Maybe carpal tunnel: The location of your symptoms are consistent with where your "median nerve" is located.  This is the nerve injured in carpal tunnel syndrome. There is also an ulnar gutter in the elbow where another nerve, the ulnar nerve is located.  (Though that would not really explain your fingers).  Carpal tunnel is  often with excessive use of hands in repetitive movements.  It also occurs during sleep.

i was running and got a sharp pain in my arm.  i didn't make contact with anything.  pain is in the elbow, wrist, palm, and middle finger.

Pain: It is most likely due to neck  muscle spasm and will probably respond to warm heat to the back of the neck  as this may be causing referred pain into the arm.
