Muscle pain: this is typical muscle pain.. Please use Tylenol (acetaminophen) if your liver is Norma and use ibuprofen if your kidneys are normal and no history of stomach ulcer.. Massage should also help

This could be herpes of the geniculate ganglion, a form of shingles, low grade dental infection spreading to the fascial planes of your neck and so on and so on. You might see an ENT specialist. Difficult to tell: by verbal description.  But this is a relatively large mass.  You should show it to your doctor.  Possibilities are enlarged lymph node, benign or malignant tumor, or something in underlying bone.

Mastoiditis: Mastoid Bone is right behind ear. when it gets inflamed by infection it can cause pain. other aspects are ear it self. and cellulitis-skin infection/inflammation. suggest getting it checked out.
