Accepted Answer

: Pooling?  Not a medical term.  If you mean swelling or edema the answer is yes.  If that foot or lower leg has been injured in past. Or the veins in that leg have a problem.  Need more details. Go to uptodate.com and read more.

i have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, pitting ankle edema and feel faint. my life is sedentary due to being overweight, is any way i can improve the pots without exercise? i can't function because of the illness?

: Obesity and sedentary lifestyle are a problem for many medical issues. Even walking for 15 minutes can improve your health. Start slow and short and build up to longer distances as you can. This will improve circulation, lessening edema, increase your stamina, help you lose weight and ultimately decrease the symptoms form POTS. Talk to your Dr about additional therapies available.

I'm not entirely: Clear on what you're asking, but if you've noticed bruises on your legs after using compression stockings, you may have broken a little superficial vein from the pressure of the stocking.  The stockings may be too tight. Go back to your doctor and discuss this with him or her.

Irregular rhythm?: You may have an irregular heart rhythm....possible atrial fibrillation (usually an inconsistent heart beat) or atrial flutter (can be consistent heart beats). See your doc and get an ECG.

: New evidence from a study in Canada strongly suggests that POTS is an autoimmune disorder. In your case I think it would be secondary to lupus. Endometriosis is not currently listed as an autoimmune disorder but has some of the characteristics and may increase the risk if a coexistent autoimmune disease. Does your rheumatologist agree with these concepts or explanations?

Basic differences...: POTS:  Abnormally fast sinus rhythm at rest or minimal activity that accelerates beyond expectations and is out of proportion to physiologic necessity, not resulting from an explainable underlying cause. Diagnosed by exclusion.  IST:  Condition of orthostatic intolerance leading to abnormal increase in heart rate with change in position. Diagnosed with tilt table.

how can i minimize scrubbing on burnt pots and pans?

Medical question?: Doctors have to wash dishes as much as anybody else, but this question is not our best expertise.  Still, one can soak burnt pots & pans in hot water and soap to see if the burnt food loosens up.
