It can/will.: Oxybutin is a human insectacide , with non-specific effects on the autonomic nervous systems. Anti-cholinergic drugs have some anti-histaminic activity as well.  This can cause vaginal dryness, or simply less lubrication during intercourse.

When : When one says they have a weak bladder I am going to assume this means urinary incontinenece. There are a number of different types of incontinence. One type is over active bladder. This is associated with bladder urgency and frequency. Medications like Ditropan (oxybutynin) can address these symptoms. However there are other causes that can cause these symptoms. It is probably best if you see your doctor and have a urinalysis to rule out an infection and urodynamics to evaluate you bladder function. These will help with finding out the cause of your symptoms as well as guide future treatment.

It's there...: It's a good choice for women with overactive bladder and urge incontinence. I often use it for urinary urgency in both males and females, although, i prefer an immediate release formulation. It's been shown to work in men with benign prostate hypertrophy to improve their urination.

Bladder: Oxybutynin half life is 2 to 3 hours and the extended relief product  half life is 12 hours. That is why the regular might need to be dosed 4 times daily while the xr is dosed once or twice daily

Yes: While not a common side effect,  excitement, nervousness, can occur, especially with higher dosages.

: There is no definite answer yet, it is still at phase IV FDA clinical study. There are some data from other developed countries but this is still a matter of controversy so there is no FDA black box for this drug yet. However, this drug should not be used for patient with dementia.
