Yes, probably.: You are taking a lot of highly addictive narcotic medication.  Due to recent FDA regulation, the amount of Tylenol (acetaminophen) you are taking is probably not toxic, but prolonged Tylenol (acetaminophen) use can contribute to hearing loss in women.  Even at lower dose, I would recommend regular liver tests, and talk to your doc about other options for pain control, unless you have a terminal condition.

No: you should not take any addtional pain medications such as as opiods until you see our pain management doctor first, even though those medications have no tylenol (acetaminophen) the effects may be more severe if your Hep C is active

Blood contact: Hepatitis c is caused by hepatitis c virus, which is transmitted mostly through blood exposure (sharing needles and syringes).  I can also be transmitted sexually,  especially through fairly rough, unprotected, inadequately lubricated sex where there might be blood exposure.

Blood borne  disease: Hepatitis c virus (hcv) infection is not considered a sexually transmitted disease. Rather, it is considered more of a blood borne infection that is highly transmittable- more so than hiv.

Yes: Newly developed treatments are allowing hepatitis c infections to be cured in an increasing percentage of cases with combination therapy.  The need for and type of treatment can be determined by a hepatologist ( a gastroenterologist  who specializes in liver disease).

Avoid alcohol: The most important change you can make is to eliminate alcohol from your life. Think of alcohol as adding fuel to the fire of hcv. Next, be careful about common medications like tylenol, (acetaminophen) that can increase liver damage if taken at high doses. Check with a doctor before taking any new meds, including herbal products. Other than that, eat a well balanced diet with fruits and veggies and get exercise.

Possible: With new drugs approved by FDA recently such as sofosbuvir/ledipasvir combination (Harvoni) in 2014, cure for certain type (type 1) of Hep C infection becomes increasingly possible. Yes.: But you should certainly notify the artist.  Make sure you use a reputable and clean facility.  Please make sure you are immunized against hep a and b.

Hep c: Although I am a heart doctor I am aware of new drugs that have the potential to cure hep c.  I will not go in details and perhaps an hepatologist can weigh in. Please speak to your doctor. Good luck.
