Yes: Newly developed treatments are allowing hepatitis c infections to be cured in an increasing percentage of cases with combination therapy. The need for and type of treatment can be determined by a hepatologist ( a gastroenterologist who specializes in liver disease).

Yes: There are multiple newer medications available to treat C. now, which can cure the disease. They are generally oral medications, taken for 8 to 24 weeks, and have greater than 90% success rate in curing the disease. They have very few side effects, although they are very expensive. If you have risk factors, be sure to get tested. Good luck!
