Ovarian cysts: An non-ruptured ovarian cyst would not have anything to do with bleeding after intercourse. A ruptured physiologic cyst (corpus luteum) could cause your period to happen earlier than expected. You should see your gyn.

after intercourse i started bleeding. i have an ovarian cyst. pregnancy test is negative. does that mean the cyst is popped? no pain just blood.

Possibility: If you had a hemorrhagic cyst that popped, you may have some blood emerge from the uterus. If your cervix is friable or you weren't lubricated adequately you may also have some spotting/bleeding. One way to distinguish it is if it happens again with sex

Need to see your doc: Periods longer than a week need evaluation by your gynecologist, as well as pain during intercourse.  Could be a female gynecologic disorder.

Cyst and bleeding: Except for a few very specific circumstances, a ruptured cyst does not usually lead to uterine bleeding. Other causes need to be addressed.

Not likely the cause: Typically ovarian cysts don't cause bleeding unnless they rupture or get twisted onto their own tubes etc...Light bleeding after sex is quite common for those having a male partner who is a bit on the long-side--repetitious trauma of the penis pushing/thrushing on the cervix which can bleed a bit. If u have some cervical polyps, fibroids, infections, cancer, bleeding is even more common. Good luck.

Yes: I would get seen.  It may be coming from inflammation of the cervix.

No: Benign tumors or Ovarian cysts do not cause postcoital bleeding The problem must be somewhere in the vagina or cervix.  Discuss with your gynecologist

I IncystYouBeCareful: With rupture some blood leaks out. Sometimes more than "some." Sometimes it can be a lot. And blood in that area can irritate the tissues and cause that pain and throbbing. Now, other things can happen down there too, like the ovary twisting, so it's probably a good idea to have it checked out unless the pain starts subsiding considerably over the next 6 to 12 hours, same if you feel dizzy.
