Ovarian CA: Your ovaries are made up of a number of different tissues, all of which can become cancer. Each type will or can cause a mass. Mass being a lump of tissue.  Of course normal ovarian tissue can do the same thing.  Usually additional imaging with an ultra sound can help distinguish the actual make up of the"mass".  A normal ovary is not a static organ...Cysts form, eggs are released etc.

Not usually: There are few symptoms of ovarian cancer which accounts for why it is rarely diagnosed at an early stage.  The known symptoms are bloating, pelvic or back pain, feeling full quickly when eating, changes in bowel and bladder function and new unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge.

Ultrasound: If you are concerned about the presence of the cyst the Gynecologist saw at the hysterectomy, you can get an ultrasound done to check for the presence or absence of the cyst. Do you have family history of ovarian cancer? You are too young to get your ovaries removed. Surgical menopause at this young age is not recommended. Symptoms of ovarian cancer are vague and can be from colon or stomach too.

: Probably as your symptoms remain largely unexplained and while work up so far is reassuring as far as ovarian cancer, local inflammation of a different etiology remains likely. Establishing and following up with an Obs-Gyn would be best in trying to elucidate the cause for your symptoms.

: Ovarian cancer would be extremely unusual at your age and highly unlikely to cause symptoms for a year in the absence of any clinical findings. Ovarian cysts normally come and go and are not a concern. There are various benign cysts that can be persistent but they are almost always asymptomatic. Simple less than 5 cm cysts with thin walls can be safely followed indefinitely if they are stable.

: The best way to find out would be to see a gynecologist for an evaluation. The gynecologist can examine you and then send you for an imaging study so the ovaries can be visualized. This would be the best way to find out what your pain is from. It could be a benign process-like cysts, fibroids, etc. So, see a gynecologist for evaluation. Good luck to you!
