May need antibiotic: If you have otitis media you may need antibiotic treatment. Fluid in the middle ear can be associated with loss of balance and can last for a few days.

Acute vs residual : The acute enteroviral process will generally run its course in a week, though you can continue to excrete virus in your poo for 6 wks if you are on a gut aggravating med like augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) it may be preventing resolution. Active culture yoghert, bananas, apples, dry breads, etc can help you slow down.Fruit juices can make you worse.

Carbamide Peroxide: Debrox is an otc that can dissolve ear wax. It won't help otitis media as it only goes to the outer ear. In fact, if it gets in the middle ear it will cause significant pain. 
On a side note, hydrogen peroxide works as well as debrox but is much cheaper.

my 10 yr old daughter who weighs 107 pounds has otis media. she was prescribed 400mg/5ml amoxicillin and is to take 25 ml twice daily. is this an extr?

Amoxicillin: I would double check this dose with pediatrician and or your pharmacist. We give adults an average dose of 500 mgs three times daily. Your daughter's dose calculates to 2000 mgs twice daily unless my math is incorrect.

i have otitis media  and fluid behind my ears and a feeling of pressure, am on betaclav for 5 days and sinucon. when will the pressure go away?

Nasal congestion: you are already on amoxacillin clavunate and antihistamine and decongestant
what will help is saline nose spray every 8 hrs and steam inhalation in the form of a vaporiser
if no response your physician may use prednisone to treat your sinuses

Let gravity help: If your ear is draining sleep on the affected side so that gravity can help your ear drain. However, if you are having such pain and pressure i hope you've seen the doctor because you should be under treatment.

That space is like a cave in the skull, with the ear drum on one wall, a drain tube (eustacion tube) in the floor & another wall composed by the skull & the ear nerve. The walls make mucous which normally drains but can be trapped. Germs can feed on the trapped mucous & cause infection.
