Eczema: Yes, itching is a very common symptom of eczema due to skin dryness. Using emollients or ointments work better than creams which is better than lotions. Vaseline, aquaphor are examples of emollients. For more info, follow this:

: Usually clobetasol is not very expensive when ordered as a generic and on good rx. Also, it is an extremely potent topical steroid. Suggest that you see a dermatologist for eval and advice. Perhaps oatmeal baths and otc emollients and anti itch creams might be beneficial along with oral low dose antihistamines. A good  and cheaper substitute steroid would be Triamcinolone cream.

First,: are you sure it's eczema? Eczema doesn't typically present on a kids bottom alone.  It can be often confused with seborrheic dermatitis and other conditions.  If the rash has been there for a while there may be a component of yeast involved.  Instead of muddying up the issue with a bunch of OTC creams, why don't you have her pediatrician take a look?

MOISTURISERS/HC1%: Moisturisers available over the counter like eucerine, moisturel, exzaderm, oxyvectin, and many more.
For flare ups you can use 1%hydrocotisone cream or oinyment for mild eczema
if you need fancy moisturisers recommended by some are

but expensive ones do not mean they are better.The chepest is crisco shortening.

: You need to be careful about using it on normal skin as it will cause thinning of normal skin. If you are not certain of the diagnosis, see a doctor first. But, in general, if used very sparingly and if you avoid normal skin, this can be ok to use. Best of luck to you!

Probably not: There is no reason to believe that it will be helpful. The types of pollen in bee pollen could potentially cross react with some foods, but there are no studies showing that bee pollen will help with this. The only treatment for eczema that is due to food allergies is avoidance of the foods to which your toddler is allergic.

Need steroid: Go in, u need a high potency steroid, like clobetasol cream, perhaps with an antifungal cream.  God luck, try Hydrocortisone mixed w/ lotrimin (clotrimazole) in the meantime.
