Grow your own!: If you have complete control over growing vegetables  then you know its organic. Vegetable gardening is great fun in spring,  summer, and fall. However, some produce you can't grow, and most people find they don't have a milking cow or a bunch of hens.  Then you can go to a pricier place and see that your milk is certified organic, as your eggs and meat. Sorry, imports have little regulations.

No exposure to toxin: Organic foods are grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Also the foods are not irradiated, have additives it exposed to solvents.  This decreases the risk of toxic effects of pesticides.

"Organic" is a poor: term because its use is not well regulated.  Scientifically, all food is organic because all food contains carbon atoms (the definition of organic).
