i had oral surgery last week for a failed root canal and cyst removal.  a stitch fell out today and now it's very sore and swollen should i be worried?

Call your surgeon: Postoperative swelling will usually reach its peak by the third day after surgery.  Losing a stitch should not pose a problem.  If your swelling has not decreased in size and you are still experiencing significant discomfort, call your surgeon to find out if he or she needs to see you to determine if your postoperative course is normal or not.

Numerous casuses: And most are not painful. Most common is a dental abscess from a tooth with a necrotic pulp ("dead nerve"). Other sources can be dental ("supernumerary or extra" teeth), developmental--nerve cells trapped between the "joints" of the bones of the mouth, for example, or neoplastic (pre- or cancerous). It is important that your surgeon submit the tissues to an oral pathologist for microscopic eval.

Numbness: In most cases, the numbness would have already subsided. There have been cases where it takes up to one year to resolve and sometimes it is permanent. The doctor who did the surgery would be the best one to discuss this issue with you.

Palatal Surgery: Your recovery will depend on many factors, including how much surgery is required to remove the cyst, medications prescribed, and how well you follow instructions. You may have a splint to wear to reduce swelling. You will probably have stitches. You will have some pain but it should be manageable with medication. You should be on a liquid diet the first few days followed by a soft diet.

i had 4 days ago an oral surgery(impact wisdom tooth removal).after day 3 and today i feel pressure in temples headache that doesnt go away with depon and i feel that i can not rest my jaw when i sleep. are these symptoms normal?

: Oral surgery does stretch the muscles of the jaw at times which can cause a temporal headache. You should ask the oral surgeon if there is any concerns about your pain

Anything: You can eat whatever you want.  However, i would caution you to avoid chips and nuts for the first 2 days. Avoid using a straw for 24 hours to help prevent the clot from being lost.

Depends on procedure: Performed: from orthognathic surgery, parotid glad removal, and temporomandibular joint replacement to implants and wisdom teeth removal - the extent of the surgery will dictate overall experience.  However, with either comfortable sedation or general anesthesia, the experience during the surgery will be consistent - comfortable, relaxing, often euphoric.

Afraid: Many people are to some extent. If you let it prevent you from seeking and obtaining proper dental care, then you will suffer more in the end. I find if you get a recommendation for a skilled and caring dentist, they can help allay your fears and walk you through the process. If you can&#x27;t even get to make the appointment, speak to therapist. You will be happier in the end, not to mention healthier.
