The : The diagnosis of a cyst is made by looking at tissue with a microscope.  If there is something at the end of the root of a molar, it means you need to see an endodontist.  If it is a cyst, it can become infected and or expand.

Unfortunately : Unfortunately you did not provide enough information regarding the nature and location of the cyst.  As you would expect a simple odontogenic (dental) cyst in an easily accessed location could be done as a simple in office procedure under local anesthesia.  More aggressive cysts, those that are difficult to access, or those that have vital structures located close by may require a general anesthetic and hospitalization.

Bruise = bleeding: The bruise is from the breakdown of blood products when you bled from cutting the area with your teeth.  If you were diagnosed with a cyst, and the cyst itself did not rupture you will still need a follow-up and removal of the cyst if it was previously recommended.

Biting your lip: Sorry, it's a silly obvious answer, but it is true.  Irritation will eventually provoke your body into "defending itself" often by forming cysts.  Biting your lip is probably a nervous habit.See your dr. Have the lesion removed and learn of other ways to cope with your tension and nervousness besides biting your lip.  Meditation, deep breathing, yoga, tai chi... There are many ways to cope w/stess.
