Topical relief: Orabase is an over the counter topical pain reliever.  It works by reducing the swelling, itching, and pain that can occur with mouth sores. Dab or press (do not rub) a small amount of paste onto the area to be treated until the paste sticks and a smooth, slippery film develops. A cotton swab may be used to apply the paste.

In your mouth: No one would suggest you eat the tube of kenalog, (triamcinolone) but if you are applying small amounts to sores in your mouth then it is swallow able. Just follow the directions on the pharmacy label and don't swallow it through your eye.

Orabase: Orabase can be purchased at local pharmacies but not all may not have it. Orabase with kenalog (triamcinolone) would require a prescription from dentist or other health care provider.

i have spots on my tongue. i went to my gp and was prescribed with orabase. it's still there after 3 weeks. what should i do next?

Re-check important: If  spots on your tongue haven't improved after 3 wks, let your gp know that - it may need to be seen by either an oral surgeon or dermatologist, depending on the character of the "spot".  
You didn't mention what these spots  look like, but some conditions on the tongue are not abnormal, just atypical.  A dentist can either tell you or have the specialist diagnose it, but do follow up with this.

Palliative Only: Orabase will not help the cold sore, except alleviating mild discomfort.  What you need for a cold sore (which is the herpes simplex virus) is anti-viral medication.  I recommend valcyclovir tabs and Acyclovir topical paste.  The dosage determined by your dentist.  Remember, "cold sores" are very contagious, to yourself and others!  no touching the lesion and eyes, nose, or genitals; no kissing!

Ulcers: I would not medicate myself with a Corticosteroid without first knowing for sure what type of ulcer you had. In some cases, you can actually make things worse.  Better to see a dentist while on vacation or just wait until you get back home unless it resolves by then. If appropriate, a dentist can give you a script for the proper medication.  If It's a canker sore it will be gone in 7-10 days.

i burnt the inner side of my cheek eating. caused a blister, accidentally bit the blister and am left with a very painful cut. what do i do to help the pain? it has been so hard to eat or drink anything without a bad stinging pain. using orabase too.

See Dentist: Considering your level of trauma, you should be examined by your Dentist who can prescribe antibiotics if indicated.  In the meantime Advil (as per pkg directions), salt water rinses (ask your Dentist how to do this), and dab Orabase-B (not plain Orabase) onto sore spot.  But most of all, call your Dentist.

No: It  is an anti-inflammatory agent, more soothing than irritating.

Plain water: Please don't put the vapor steam liquid in the water... It will keep the vaporizer operating longer if you put the liquid in the cup next to where the steam comes out, rather than in the water.

Not simple: Kind of a complex question. Basically most of the studies were done with the 1st generation stents. There was a significant reduction in the need to retreat with drug eluting stents (DES) compared compared to bare metal stents (BMS) (an absolute difference of approximately 12% at four years). There was no significant difference in overall mortality between DES and BMS.
