Don't brush 24 h: only gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water 3-4 X per day. After the 24 hours, start brushing your teeth, being particularly gentle near the surgical site to avoid disrupting any stitches or blood clot.

Ask the practioner: Local anesthesia may be injected into the incisive foramen to numb the upper front teeth and palate in that area, along with infiltration on the facial aspect.  Personally, i see no reason why someone would do that for the removal of a wisdom tooth.  If that was done, and you want to know why, i suggest that you ask the dentist.

Local anesthetic: Here should be no problem.  Discuss the issue with your dentist or oral surgeon.

After extraction: Generally, one needs to bite on gauze to control the bleeding and aid in the formation of a blood clot for the first 1-2 hours after extractions. If you have continued bleeding or any other problems or specific questions, you should call the dentist who treated you.

"gum pain": Unless there is an ulcer problem, a better anti-inflammatory would be any commercial form of ibuprofen.  If the pain persists beyond another week, see your dentist to removed the wisdom tooth to check for infection/abscess.

Something's wrong: Something's wrong but i cannot know what without examining you in person. You will have to return to the dentist who extracted your tooth to evaluate what the problem is. It may well be something unrelated to the extraction. Only a one on one clinical exam and x-rays can determine that.

Complications: Continued bleeding is a major complication after wisdom tooth extractions. By alcohol usage, you are increasing this risk of continued bleeding and not being able to get a good clot formation for healing.

Post-ext pain: If your Oral Surgeon feels your post-Rx pain is joint related, treatment IS available.  Ask your Dentist for guidance.

Questions: Not unusual.  May take months to resolve.  To be sure, make an appointment with the Surgeon who removed the tooth for a post-surgical examination.  Take along a written list of all your questions.  That way the Surgeon can address all your concerns.
